LAST OUT WINNER IGNORED ANGLE
When a horse wins, the horse sometimes continues to win. The trainer may have found a certain level, surface, equipment addition or subtraction, work/rest interval, track, jockey, or a combination of these changes.
While the bettor does not know which change can make a difference, the bettor can see what a trainer has done with other horse with the changes and the outcome of those changes. Yet, each horse is different.
However, a winning horse is worthy of a second look even when moving up after breaking their maiden. The non-winners of 2 lifetime can be a challenging level to navigate. Yet, a winning horse shows good form, so demands attention.
If a last winner is not bet, and the odds are growing larger, it would behoove you to take a closer look and make a wager. Jim Mazur from Progressive Handicapping calls this angle "LOWI" or LAST OUT WINNER IGNORED ANGLE.
Over this weekend at Belmont Park, the "LOWI" paid well in two races late on the Saturday Card in the WILD APPLAUSE STAKES when the 9 RUNAWAY RUMOR trained by Jorge Abreu won its third race in a row at odds of 13-1 to pay $29.00 to win. (All Photos taken from Daily Racing Form, www.drf.com)
Then, the angle hit again on Sunday in the 8th race when 5 MEGACITY trained by John Stephens followed up his turf victory at Monmouth Park with a victory at Belmont at odds of 42-1 to pay $86.00 to win.

Then, see the results below on June 27th at Belmont Park
A Ten dollar win bet on the LOWI angle would have netted the bettor over $1,000.00. We are talking "comma money."
On Sunday 6/27/2021, Belmont Park had 9 races on the card. 4 of the 9 races had LAST OUT WINNERS win again.
