On the NYRA circuit, we get back to fast dirt surface after a strange wet / muddy track with little rain last week. Down in Florida, it seems like Saez is quickly taken over again as the leading jockey, with Irad suspended until 2022 and Zayas out until March with shoulder surgery and recovery, but Gafflione and Alvarado are riding well. The Tapeta surface is still a challenge to figure out and is frustrating many bettors. Hopefully, we will see fewer races on the Tapeta surface except for inclement weather days.
Yesterday Parx had a carryover for the Big Philly Pick 5 that grew over 250K -- We had one of 132 winning tickets, so we essentially got our money back -- invested $108 and returned $125 -- but we were alive to last leg with four entries and three of the entries ran first, second, and fourth.
Today we are choosing winners in select races from Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park.
Aqueduct
Race 1: 2 Boss Cara is getting Lasix while adding blinkers always like trainers who try making changes to improve performance.
Race 2: 5 Baby I' m Perfect and 6 Fast Break are both last out winners -- love that angle!
Race 6: 6 Glory Road goes out for the Tom Morley barn who has had their best year ever --looks to add to their win and earnings total today. also, 5 Opt goes out for trainer Robert Ribaudo and digging through pp's, this horse's dirt races can win this at ML 10-1.
Race 7: 2 Sterling Hill has ability and may take this race over the deserving Rudy Rodriguez entries -- not taking 2-5 on the ML.
Gulfstream Park
Race 5: 1 Drum and Drummer --Saez tries to go gate to wire!
Race 6: 4 Dr Cefolio will be better if not on slop and 5 Mighty Miracle is bred for this -- the presence of the Pletcher starter to the outside with Tyler will ensure value
Race 9: 1 Briella will stalk the pace and pounce -- Saez for the win!
Race 10: 9 Avow has good works and it is TAP with Saez but Arrogate horses seem to be late bloomers, so we will try to beat with 2 Miles of Smiles and 6 Seabrook Summer while in our horizontal action we will include Casse's 7 Hard To Capture bet down to post time favorite for debut 6 months ago.
